Crime Junkie

Crime Junkie is Ashley Flowers and Brit Prawat walking through a case in a tight, conversational script, with updates when the story moves.

Flowers runs audiochuck, and the show is the engine of that company. The episodes are researched summaries more than boots-on-the-ground investigations, and they say so by the way they tell you what is known.

The series became huge because the format is reliable: one case, a clear timeline, a host who sounds like she is telling a friend. That reliability is also the criticism, and listeners can hear the difference from a reported serial.

New episodes land weekly. If a case has had a later development, look for the update rather than assuming the original hour is the last word.
