Nice White Parents is Chana Joffe-Walt’s Serial Productions series about a public school in Brooklyn and the white families who arrive believing they are there to help.

Five parts follow money, meetings, and the history under a building. The title is the argument. The reporting is specific enough that the argument has names.

The series is one of the clearest examples of education reporting as narrative. Policy shows up as a vote in a gym, not as a white paper.

Each part answers a courtesy the previous part extended, and the courtesies get thinner.
