On Being with Krista Tippett

On Being is Krista Tippett’s interview series about the inner life: poets, scientists, religious thinkers, and people doing ordinary work with an examined attention.

Tippett’s style is slow on purpose. She asks about the guest’s formation, not their takes. The show grew out of public radio and kept a commitment to conversation that does not panic when silence arrives.

Listeners come for permission to take meaning seriously without a sermon. The archive includes figures who rarely sat for this kind of hour anywhere else.

The conversations are long and they are not news. Pick a guest whose work you respect and let the first ten minutes be biography. The idea you came for shows up after the life does.
