Tetragrammaton with Rick Rubin

Tetragrammaton is Rick Rubin in long conversation with artists, scientists, and other guests, recorded in a style as unhurried as his reputation.

Rubin asks simple questions and lets the guest roam. The episodes are not a master class with chapters. Music is often the door, and then the talk goes somewhere else.

The show is interesting when the guest has a practice they can describe, because Rubin’s gift is attention rather than interrogation. You hear someone explain how they actually spend a day.

They are long and they start slowly. Commit to one guest you care about. Sampling the first ten minutes of five episodes will convince you nothing happens, which is not quite true.
